Glenn "Chico" Resch was the popular and energetic co-starter who shared goaltending duties with Billy Smith through the late 1970s and the 1980 Cup run. Beloved by fans for his exuberant personality and acrobatic style, he was part of the first championship team before being traded to Colorado in 1981. His career record of 231 wins included some of the Islanders' most important early playoff victories.
